Angel Faces’ mission is to encourage, inspire, empower and provide retreats and ongoing support to adolescent girls and young women who have experienced disfiguring trauma or burns. Our programs enhance self-esteem and social skills, while addressing the emotional and psychological healing process from traumatic injuries within a holistic framework of mind, body, and spirit.

(For Adolescent Girls, Ages 14-18)

The Level 1 retreat helps girls improve their self-image and increase self-confidence while embracing their trauma and related disfigurement. Group sessions lead by licensed psychologist focus on identifying trauma and loss issues, followed by methods to facilitate emotional healing through verbal expression, journaling and art therapy. The program also provides professional instruction for applying corrective cosmetics and includes massage therapy. The girls are introduced to a supportive community and develop bonding friendships out of their shared adversity, due to similar trauma. The 2017 program is being held June 18-24.

Mentorship retreats groom leaders within the growing Angel Faces community allowing the organization to strengthen its ongoing support to attendees. The mentors share practical experiences, provide skill-reinforcement and support to younger girls as they navigate life challenges from trauma. In doing so, they build practical skills that they are encouraged to use in their broader community and workplace. Mentorship is an ongoing program. Please contact our office if you want to get involved. Call 760-487-1720 or email terry@angelfaces.com
